Workers are being denied critical safety information regarding a radiation leak at a nuclear power facility.

What They Said

“Under the applicable nuclear safety regulations, you are legally required to give us immediate, clear information about this radiation leak and our exposure levels.”
This is said by a concerned worker to management during a safety briefing following a suspected radiation leak. It puts the user at a disadvantage because management often uses technical jargon and internal policy to intimidate workers into silence.

The 'Internal Investigation' Delay

Management claims they cannot release information until internal reports are finalized to avoid panic. This is logically flawed because safety regulations mandate immediate disclosure of any event that could cause contamination. Safety rights cannot be suspended for the sake of corporate reputation or administrative convenience.

Your Legal Foundation

Ley de Contrato de Trabajo 20.744
“The employer must ensure compliance with the guidelines and limitations on working hours established by law and other regulations, and adopt measures that, according to the type of work, experience, and technique, are necessary to protect the psychophysical integrity and dignity of workers...”
Under this article, the employer has a duty to protect workers' health and safety. In a radiation leak, management must provide clear information about exposure levels to comply with this duty, and cannot use intimidation to prevent workers from obtaining it.
